Total Wine & More is seeking Associate Buyer, Spirits to join our growing Merchandising team in our Bethesda, MD office. The Associate Buyer will be responsible for supporting our buying team to drive sales volume and achieving margin targets while working in conjunction with the stores, Category Management and our Supply Chain teams. The Associate Buyer will develop reports and provide analysis on assortment, replenishment, inventory control and vendor analysis. The ideal candidate will be able to build strong relationships with internal and external business partners, as the position involves significant supplier and cross-department collaboration. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and organized Associate Buyer/Analyst to delve deep into the world of Spirits. You will report to the Sr. Director, Spirits.

You will
  • Support relevant business analysis; build assortment plans by store allocations and drive financial plan.
  • Manage and maintain SKU assortment and new item process.
  • Partner with supply planning and category teams on ordering quantities and timing for launches.
  • Drive and support educational opportunities and in-store events with suppliers that create a superior customer experience.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for driving sales on core brands.
  • Identify trends and work with suppliers to gain allocations.
  • Perform periodic review of assortment to eliminate poorly performing items.
  • Prepare, review and present weekly sales and in-stock positions.
  • Provide support in various projects for the buyers as assigned.
  • Ability to interface and negotiate with suppliers.


You will come with
  • 4 year undergraduate degree
  • 1-3 years retail buying, planning or allocation experience
  • Excellent Excel/Access knowledge
  • Experience in analysis of assortment, sales and/or margin data
  • Ability to build effective relationships with business partners and staff
  • Ability to deal successfully with complexities of a rapidly expanding organization

Total Wine & More considers several factors when establishing compensation. Estimated salaries determined by third parties have not been validated by Total Wine & More. The exempt compensation range for this position is $64,300 - $141,200. Compensation may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills and/or experience.
