Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional in the beverage industry to explore an emerging category. While experience in the THC space is a plus, we are primarily seeking someone with a deep understanding of beverage distribution in New Jersey.
The General Manager (GM) THC Beverages (THC) will be responsible for the strategic development, operational execution, and overall performance of the THC business. This individual will lead a dynamic team focused on sales, marketing, supplier relations, compliance and financial management as ABG enters this exciting category.
The role requires strong commercial acumen, an entrepreneurial mindset, a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, and an ability to engage and influence cross-functional stakeholders at all levels.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement a go-to-market strategy for the THC beverage business at ABG. Take stewardship over ABG's THC vision, financial model and portfolio strategy, while building internal expertise on and external engagement with the category. Build the strategy to sharpen category development, drive market share and realize revenue growth across the THC landscape. Remain flexible to adapt plans to regulatory changes. Maintain compliance and regulatory requirements.
Sales Leadership & Team Oversight:
Direct and mentor THC commercial team to optimize coverage and sales execution. Ensure effective implementation of merchandising strategies and key account plans. Oversee sales planning, programming and communication. Deliver training programs to upskill the sales teams in compliance, presentation skills, and merchandising. Support and lead education of relevant ABG employees and accounts in the THC beverage space and in New Jersey state regulations and compliance.
Key Account Development:
Develop and maintain contact with key accounts to build sales relationships and gain market information. Ensure that Sales teams meet assigned key account sales responsibilities. Conduct market surveys of top accounts to ensure that maximum results are achieved by the sales teams. Ensure merchandising efforts for floor stacks, end cap displays, and cold box management.
Supplier Partnership:
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and other external stakeholders. Act as the primary point of contact for supplier communication, negotiations and relationship- building. Engage suppliers in development of ABG's THC strategy where appropriate. Schedule supplier market activities with Team. Provide input to suppliers about specific market/brand conditions and general local industry conditions.
Portfolio Management:
Oversee the portfolio manager to develop and execute brand and commercial strategies for THC beverage brands, including development of pricing and programming. Drive portfolio performance by identifying opportunities for innovation and competitive differentiation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
- 7+ years of leadership experience in beverage alcohol (including beer) or like industries
- Demonstrated success in selling alcoholic beverages or consumer products to retail customers and account management, including merchandising and sales finance principles
- Direct experience with supplier and portfolio management
- Track record of successfully managing and aligning cross-functional teams and building business plans
- THC expertise is a plus
- Strong communication, verbal, presentation, and writing skills
- Strong Supervisory skills in directing, guiding and developing others
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong financial acumen, business agility and decision-making skills
- Understanding of regulatory measures and compliance that surround both the beverage alcohol and THC industries.
- Ability to influence, train and develop high performing teams. Brand and relationship building mentality.
