Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate potential investments related to our industry through due diligence, market research and competitive analysis; Research and identify trends for companies and financing and analyze product and competitive dynamics.
- Actively meet companies through various channels such as online research, networking events and referrals from our network.
- Manage pipeline of deal flow to successfully structure and close investments.
- Contribute to investment memos by performing qualitative and quantitative diligence for prospective investments.
- Partner with portfolio companies to support their business growth, adding value through your analysis, experience, and advice.
- Support financial analysis and valuation and structure alternatives for decision purposes.
- Manage internal reporting of portfolio company performance, creating internal dashboards to identify growth patterns and inform follow-on investment strategy.
- Founder Recruitment:
- Work with investment team to identify promising founders who fit investment criteria.
- Support investment team with email outreach, scheduling/calendar management, and post-meeting follow-up requests with founders.
- Company Due Diligence:
- Support the diligence process to evaluate potential investments.
- Support the investment team on decision-making and communication/pipeline management with founders in the funnel.
- Fund Reporting:
- Manage monthly reporting on fund performance, leveraging internal software to track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) that reflect the growth, profitability, and sustainability of our investments.
- Portfolio Support:
- Work with founders on utilizing superchargers afforded to the founder.
- Coordinate quarterly meetups with portfolio companies.
- Data collection and company updates for each portfolio company.
Requirements:
- Passion for Pronghorn’s mission is essential.
- 2-3 years of investment banking or direct Venture Capital or Private Equity experience.
- Familiarity with the construct within an Investment Memo and research required to build.
- An investment track record that demonstrates the ability to source, transact and grow early stage businesses.
- An entrepreneurial attitude, a demonstrated curiosity, a willingness to pitch in every aspect of the business and grow an ethos of hard work and initiative in previous endeavors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects on time and in parallel.
- Strong emotional intelligence, experience with recruiting, vetting or advising entrepreneurs is a plus.
- A genuine passion for startups, an entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to learn.
- Comfortable working in ambiguity but with high expectations.
- Available to travel.
- Expertise with google sheets and other tools utilized by our founders.
