Southern Glazer's offers a competitive package with annual compensation of $100,00-$130,000. plus, bonus. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate educations, skills and experience and make an offer appropriately.

Overview

As the key player in the Operations Leadership Team and Logistics Managers, your role is crucial in ensuring complete safety compliance. This responsibility directly impacts our team's well-being and our operations' success.Ensure all logistics (transportation) associates meet Department of Transportation (DOT) and Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) criteria.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee local fleet operations and vehicle accident processing; work with third-party contractors.
  • Collaborate with the EHS Manager
  • Strong knowledge of FMCSR's requirements about driver qualification files, hour-of-service, drug/alcohol testing, and vehicle maintenance
  • Preventative maintenance program
  • Ensures all transportation associates understand and operate within the organizational, operational, safety, and service policies and procedures
  • Trains all transportation associates on proper vehicle incident reporting procedures- use of following applications: Lytx, Telematics, Benchmark (Gensuite) & JJ Keller's DataSense
  • Trains transportation supervisors on applications
  • Oversees monthly fleet safety training.
  • Provides initial fleet safety training & annual refresher training records and files
  • Conducts DOT regulatory training, driver qualification, hours-of-service, driver vehicle inspection reports, drug/alcohol testing, & ride-a-longs.
  • Accident Investigation & assign vehicle investigations to appropriate field
  • Assigns vehicle investigations to appropriate field personnel
  • Reviews vehicle incident investigation findings for accuracy and completion and "preventability" determinations (root-cause analysis)
  • Manage Benchmark for compliance, create & implement vehicle collision review committees
  • Manage fleet maintenance, Ryder billing,
  • Manage the Ryder billing process for accuracy
  • Oversee the delivery of new vehicles and the disposal of old vehicles.
  • Manage fleet within DOT guidelines and liaise between drivers' maintenance providers; ensure safe and reliable vehicles.


Additional Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for fuel analysis reporting
  • Determine routing and legal load limits of trucks according to established schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) and Company policies.
  • Manage Telematics System and associated reporting (GeoTab / Lytx / Gridline)
  • Track and report driver DOT/NON-DOT accidents to the appropriate members of management & internal reporting systems. Benchmark Ensures all transportation employees operating CMVs are fully qualified and maintain driver
  • qualification records in support of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR)
  • Conducts regular on-site vehicle safety inspection audits and driver record audits
  • Manage all DQ driver files with JJ Keller
  • Manage GeoTab HOS, Lytx Dashboard


Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years professional experience in DOT Compliance or equivalent experience (Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related degree preferred)
  • Complete "Certified Transportation Professional" certification (within 12 months of hire)
  • OSHA 30-Hour (or within 60 days of hire - online is available*)
  • Complete "Smith System Driving Instructor" course (within six months of hire)
  • Complete Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certified by ASSP (within two years of hire)
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license
  • Strong knowledge of FMCSR's requirements pertaining to driver qualification files, hour-of-service, drug/alcohol testing and vehicle maintenance
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general compliance reports, technical procedures, and/or government regulations
  • Exceptional verbal, written, organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills to interact within all levels of the organization
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, follow-through, and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
  • Former Driver highly desirable


Physical Demands

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
  • Additional hours may be required during October, November, and December and other peak periods
  • 25% travel required
