Overview
Sitting in the Enterprise Data and Analytics organization, and partnered with cross-functional data product teams, the Principal Analytics Engineer is a full stack analyst who translates raw data into powerful tools, services, and insights that that solve real business challenges for our suppliers, customers and internal sales and operational teams. This individual will have the hard and soft skills to build and deliver impactful data products in a business domain-aligned data products organization. They work fluidly with enterprise functions to co-create data driven insights, BI teams to enhance self-service capabilities, data scientists to develop predictive services, and platform engineers to enhance tools and works flows.

Primary Responsibilities
- A natural analyst with perpetual curiosity and mind for scientific discovery
- You can leverage raw, dirty, and multi-sourced data signals, design, build and deliver datasets that unlock insightful information for teams across the enterprise.
- Have the ability to develop and deploy data observability automation for data products ensuring a high degree of confidence covering batched and real-time streaming data.
- You can leverage basic to deep statistical skills to both aggregate and enrich datasets by developing business aligned and impactful metrics, measures, and predictive features.
- Are adept in building and deploying data pipelines using industry standard cloud services and modern code bases like SQL, Spark, Python.
- Have experience in designing and deploying different data structures tied to different data use cases such as relational databases, knowledge graphs, NoSQL/unstructured, etc.
- Are a novice to advanced hands-on skills working with variations of data APIs (as well as providers) to extract and/or use data in place.
- Experienced in standing up streaming data systems and developing data driven alerts and monitors to identify real-time opportunities for teams to action across enterprise functions.
- You have expertise in one or more of the following business areas as it pertains to advanced data analytics: marketing and digital advertising, ecommerce, mobile apps, supply chain, sales, logistics, and/or finance.
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Enjoy co-designing new platform capabilities and workflows for platform engineering teams in support of new ways of working and speeding end-to-end delivery.
- Have a background in working directly with machine learning engineers to tackle advanced predictive modeling challenges and data processing needs.
- Can leverage new AI/automation tools to accelerate data and analytics delivery such as leveraging LLMs to create conversational interfaces to data tables, generating data tables from raw datasets, generating semantics from data, generating data catalogs from datasets.
Minimum Qualifications
- 9+ years building data pipelines leveraging common languages such as SQL, Spark, Python, etc.
- 9+ years hands on experience working in a modern cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure) leveraging modern data structures and services (file storage, RDMS, streaming services, ELT, etc.)
- 9+ years leveraging statistical or algorithmic modeling methods to answer questions and solve measurement and prediction problems.
- Experience working with modern data lakehouse software and structures such as Databricks and/or Snowflake
- Ability to breakdown multiple complex asks and deliver solutions with agility
- Experience designing and deploying data products as part of a modern analytics cloud platform
- Experience operating successfully in an environment of transformation with competing priorities and complex matrixed organizations
- Superb interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships in a distributed working model
