Overview

The Principal Business Analyst- SAP FICO is instrumental in supporting and enhancing IT processes for finance functions, including financial planning, reporting, shared services, payroll, accounting, and auditing. This role focuses on data analysis, process standardization, and identifying improvement opportunities, while building strong partnerships across teams. Leveraging expertise in SAP FICO and FSCM, the Principal IT Analyst works to resolve data issues, monitor KPIs, and drive efficiency initiatives within financial systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data, creating detailed reports for finance and management teams to support decision-making.
  • Process Standardization: Utilize financial systems knowledge (e.g., SAP FICO, FSCM, Kronos) to identify discrepancies and establish standardized processes across finance functions.
  • Documentation & Requirements Gathering: Develop procedural flows and business requirements documents, ensuring clarity and alignment for technology solutions.
  • Data Integrity & Efficiency Tools: Maintain and ensure data accuracy, developing tools to enhance team efficiency and support finance operations.
  • KPI Management: Define, track, and monitor KPIs, using data insights to inform and support strategic objectives.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with various teams to drive improvements, facilitate change, and align on strategic goals.
  • Mentorship & Education: Guide and mentor team members, conduct end-user training, and promote best practices across the IT organization.
  • Communication & User Adoption: Effectively communicate updates on systems and processes, ensuring understanding and adoption across the organization.


Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience with SAP FICO and FSCM, focusing on data analysis, process improvement, and financial systems management.
  • Strong proficiency with BI tools, with experience in data interpretation and delivering insights to senior leadership.
  • 5+ years working with enterprise-level database systems, ensuring data integrity and supporting financial functions.
  • Demonstrated success in leading medium-to-complex projects within financial systems, working within significant budget constraints.

  • Results-driven with a focus on supporting business goals and delivering value.
  • Exceptional communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly and foster collaboration across teams.

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or mobile device
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
