Position Summary
The MN Sales Consultant is responsible for driving sales at on-premise and off-premise accounts in an assigned geographic area. The individual will partner with Sales Leadership and Marketing to set priorities and execute the business plan for account development in their area of responsibility. They will work closely with wholesaler sales reps and managers. This position reports to the Head of Sales.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Market Support and Growth
- Plan and execute a daily schedule of calls, touchpoints, activations that align with and support the market objectives
- Build strong relationships over time with high-value accounts
- Identify new business opportunities to increase revenue and distribution within territory. Work with distributor reps to plan approach
- Educate account staff on products by administering training
- Ensure maximum brand visibility and marketability within accounts by working with stores, accounts, and distributor to utilize effective display position and employ current point of sale materials when appropriate
- Manage efforts to meet or exceed sales targets and stay within expense budget
- Role is largely in-market, driving in Twin Cities metro and out-state communities to visit accounts and promote, build awareness and sales for Du Nord. Some days will start very early and other days may end late after tastings or events
- Tastings and Event Activations
- Schedule and conduct consumer events at key retail and on-premise accounts
- Help with training and coaching of part-time tasting staff
- Communicate with accounts, sales reps, and Du Nord team to ensure successful tasting events and activations
- Identify key local events and raise opportunities with Marketing leadership
- Leverage and build drinks industry knowledge
- Develop and grow your knowledge of our brand, market and industry to more effectively promote sales
- Report on issues related to the competitive market and offer constructive suggestions to Marketing and Sales
- Assist with development of recipes, drink concepts, and events
- Create social media content (videos, photos) for Du Nord’s channels
- Communication and Planning
- Communicate and follow through on issues deemed important to management, our distributor, and accounts
- Effectively use sales reporting tools and CRM to understand market position, develop action plans and measure results
- Ensure all required documentation and communication is completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Support other territories as requested as Brand Ambassador, educator, content creator
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Excellent sales and customer service skills
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Strong organization and time management skills
Detail and results-orientation
Be a really nice person
Must like to have fun
2+ years sales experience preferred
Knowledge of bartending or cocktail development
Most work will happen 9-5, but this role does require regular availability weekend, evening, and occasional early mornings (to travel within state to accounts)
Proficient use of office and sales technologies (creating documents, presentations, using spreadsheets and database tools, CRM tool)
Other Requirements and Demands:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must possess a valid Driver’s License
Must have reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance
Carrying and lifting 45-65 pounds
Immediate reaching to perform various duties
Overhead reaching to perform various duties
Standing and walking for periods of time to perform various duties
Squatting or bending to perform various duties as assigned
Pay and Benefits:
Full-time
Largely remote (in-market)
Compensation Range $45-65k, including base salary and bonus potential
